The 2021 PenCraft Award Book Eligibility Requirements and Submission Form
INTRODUCTION The PenCraft Award is a program sponsored by AuthorsReading.com, and Subterfuge Publishing. Its purpose is to recognize and encourage outstanding writing and publishing in all genres. The competition is open to books in all formats: paperbacks, hardcovers, digital and audiobooks. Books may be nominated for awards in multiple categories. A fee of $39.00 must accompany each submission.
1. General Eligibility. Eligible works include full length and should be entered in the appropriate category. Books must be written in English.
2. Release Dates. To be eligible for the 2021 PenCraftAwards, nominated books should be newly published and must have been released (date of the first shipment of books) after January 1, 2018 and before September 10, 2021.
3. One special award ($500.00 Cash Award) will be made to what our judges consider to be the most unusual and most significant literary work received during the competition year. Entries from all Genres will be considered for this special award. A $200 Cash Award will be made to the winning author for Best Fiction and another $200 will be awarded to the winner for Best Nonfiction. First, Second and Runner-Up Awards will be given for winners of each genre category.
4. All books, must be the work of one or two authors. Edited collections and anthologies with multiple authors are not acceptable.
5. Nominations. Book nominations may be submitted by publishers, authors or agents.
6. Deadlines. Nominated books are accepted starting in September of 2020. The final deadline to receive books, and entry forms with payment is midnight Friday, September 10, 2021.
7. Limits. There is no limit to the number of books an author, publisher or agent may submit.
8. Eligibility Disputes. In the event of a dispute as to eligibility, the judges will decide whether a book is eligible, and their decision will be binding.
9. Previous Winners. No entry will be ineligible because its author has previously won the PenCraft Award or any other award.
10. Judges Decisions. Decisions made by the judging panel will be final.
11. Confidentiality. All work of the judging panels is confidential.
Our goal and desire is the promotion of the books submitted to us during our competition and enhancing the popularity of winning authors and the recognition of their work. Winners of our competition will benefit in these ways:
